ISRO Rocket Missions: Achievements and Future Plans of India's Space Program

ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organization, has conducted several rocket missions over the years, aimed at various objectives such as satellite launches, planetary exploration, and scientific research. Some of the notable rocket missions conducted by ISRO are:

1.     Chandrayaan-1: Launched in 2008, this was India's first lunar mission aimed at studying the moon's surface and composition. The mission was a success and led to several important discoveries.

2.     Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM): Launched in 2013, this was India's first interplanetary mission aimed at studying Mars' atmosphere and surface features. The mission was a great success and placed India among a select group of countries that have successfully sent missions to Mars.

3.     GSLV-D5: Launched in 2014, this was the first successful launch of India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) with an indigenous cryogenic engine. This mission marked a major milestone in India's space program as it demonstrated the country's capability to build and launch advanced rockets.

4.     PSLV-C37: Launched in 2017, this mission set a world record for the highest number of satellites launched in a single mission. A total of 104 satellites were launched, including India's Cartosat-2 series satellite and 101 other satellites from various countries.

5.     Chandrayaan-2: Launched in 2019, this was India's second lunar mission aimed at studying the moon's south pole region. Although the mission was not completely successful, it demonstrated India's capability to carry out complex space missions.

ISRO's rocket missions have helped India establish itself as a major player in the global space race. The organization has plans to launch several more ambitious missions in the coming years, including a manned space mission, further lunar exploration, and a mission to Venus.
